Welcome to Grilldog's Journal. This is where I write what I'm doing to promote food fun and friends. If you are looking for updates on particular shows or sponsors, just do a search on their name. It's a pretty basic site.
7/13 Finally finished episode 62 & 62. I dropped those off at Channel Austin yesterday along with episodes 10 & 11. I also dropped off 7, 15 sec, promo's mostly edited clips from episode 40. I still need to package my last DVD of 4 episodes and put it on sale. I'm also behind in coding my on line shopping cart. Basically, my Toddler is very sick and I'm sick too. I'm hoping we'll get better soon so I can get back on it.
In the News is that Cruz Tequila in Austin is sponsoring a show and we've just confirmed that we'll be filming at the Cedar Door Pub downtown Austin sometime in August.
5/27 still don't have that shopping cart done. Sometimes I wonder if I ever will although I do have it up and running. Now I just have to figure out how to work it. I've finally finished Road Kill III part one and I should be finished part two by the end of this weekend, Gods help would be a plus! I've got a nice deal with BBQ Galores and we are working on some more shows. Once I complete Road Kill III I have to start working on the stuffed swordfish episode and the recipes that include Vodka as an ingredient episode. Don't have much else planned here. I also have the new four pack of DVD's completed and now I just have to mail them out and then edit the artwork for sale on the internet and Amazon.com.
4/25 still don't have that shopping cart working, sealed a big deal with BBQ Galores, still working on that first part of Road Kill III. Maybe I should just concentrate on one thing at a time LOL.
4\8 having recently updated my April Fools Howler, as usual, people are concerned. However, have no fear, Road Kill III will be up and running soon as well as new and exciting Grilldog Adventures, products, Recipes and shows
3/17/10 well, happy St Patrick's day everyone. Sorry I've been silent for so long. There's been a family emergency. However, the Grillpack of friends have taken over for Good ole Grilldog and taking episodes that I filmed but haven't had a chance of editing and doing all the work for me. Now that's friendship. So episodes 57 and 58 are now available on my website to view. 57 is Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups my Tribute to my buddy Chef Nancy and Episode 58 Grilldog's 50th Birthday with tons of facts, food, fun, friends and recipes! Currently, the Grillpack are editing Road Kill III, Battle for Supremacy, so stay tuned and the Grillpack will be sure to make sure you'll have plenty of Grilldog to go around for years to come. Heck, it might not even be Grilldog typing this, the power of the internet lives LOL.
12/4 needless to say I've been swamped. Between planning my 50th birthday and Jr Dog's 1st Birthday plus working on 2 family videos for the holidays. I finally finished the first one and hope to have the second finished by the end of next weekend. I still have 3 shows to edit and folks are itching for word about Road Kill III. But don't worry I'll get there.
11/7 Working on submitting our most recent 4 episode DVD to the production company that makes the final finished professional product that you can buy on line at www.grilldog.com or www.Amazon.com. Otherwise, production on my shows have stopped as I need to put together our family DVD for Christmas. I'm trying to have that completed by T-Day. I am waiting to hear if the folks were able to add my 7th episode, the hour long special on the net for viewing!
11/3 Finally finished my next 4 episode DVD and mailed out to all the stations. sigh, it's always a labor of love. I still have to make the new DVD cover and label for the on line sales. Although I've 3 episodes filmed I'm taking a time out from the show. I need to make the Year in review DVD. It'll be the first annual and we're sending it out to our family and friends as a Christmas present. It's going to be pretty cool. Once I have that completed I'll start work on the other shows. I'm sorry Grill Charms, and flame discs and everyone else. But I'll make it up to you all!
10/19 my Birthday Party went great, I made whisky beans, whisky sauce for pulled pork, jicama slaw, a special sauce for buffalo wings, plus a whole lot more, everyone had a great time. Now it's back to work on my shows. I finally finished Jerk'n Around, recipes that use jerky as an ingredient and I'm getting ready to burn a new 4 episode DVD and send out this week to all the stations. Once that's done I have to work on Jr Dog's yearly video for the family so all the other shows are going to be put on hold for a bit. sorry. Oh, the results are in and everyone agrees that the Whisky beans I made were the best part of the meal yesterday. Oh btw the recipe can be found in my book so get off your ass and buy one LOL
10/11 Still plugging away at the Jerky episode. It's coming along nice. I am hopeful to take a huge dent out of it today. Yesterday we finished filming the Chocolate Peanutbutter cup recipe at O Connor's in La Mesa. It went very well. Except I was a bit pissed that they charged me for everything I drank. Let's see, I provided all the food, advertised and produced a free show, their going to get free advertisement on TV and the internet and they charged me for my beer, you bet they are getting a hindleg salute this month! I'm also currently planning the recipes for my 50th birthday at the VFW in El Cajon Next Sunday, should be a hoot!
9/30 finally sending out the public access advertisements to the folks in NY today. Finally got the Jerky episode down to 28.5 minutes and I'm coming along nicely with the special effects. It's looking real good and I posted a lot of snippets on You Tube. I do need to run to Nadared to get some more vodka. I don't think one bottle is going to last with the grillpack of friends! Grillpup is excited about the show, she went out and got a lot of different flavored Irish creams. She doesn't like vodka but she likes the sweet stuff which is why she likes good ole Grilldog
9/23 minor set back the Grand Jerky show where we filmed at the new Grand in El Cajon and used Jerky from the House of Jerky to make recipes that all had Jerky as an Ingredient. I loaded the footage last night and spent two hours this morning editing it. My computer crashed and I remembered at that moment that I hadn't saved in a while sigh.
9/19 Finally, FINALLY, finished the fishing episode. It's looking real nice. I'm going to post snippets tomorrow and start loading the jerky episode onto my production computer tomorrow. I'm also working on great things for the Peanut butter cup episode and Grilldog's 50th B day and Jr dog's 1st b day, should be a blast. Guess it's been a busy day.
9/17 working hard on the fishing episode, I am hoping to have it finished by Sunday!
9/16 It was a great day. I had an interview with KJAG Internet Radio. You can hear the clip at www.grilldog.com/girlldog_airs/TS-269226.mp3 it was hilarious. We talk about our banned episode in Salina, KS "Recipes for Romance, also, "Grilldog Eats Tokyo", what's the status of Grilldog on the Food Network, our Streaming episodes, How Grilldog got hooked up with the "Gentleman's Club" Pure Platinum in Kearny Mesa, Details of "Recipes for Romance", what you can find on the internet regarding Grilldog, Grilldog fights Communism - Nadared Vodka, the concept of the show and the style of the show, our cookbook #1 and #2 which is in the works, How Big can Grilldog Be, Grilldog on the Food Network, Grilldog gear and more!
9/15 Jr Dog is exactly 10 months old today and he's cuter then ever. All the gals flirt with him and he's taking names for the Senior Prom! Unfortunately, Grillpup is pretty sick and Jr Dog isn't at his finest, registering a small fever himself! So I stayed home and although I had to still work, I did it on line and make sure Jr Dog was ok, and Grillpup got some much needed RnR. As far as the show goes, still working on that fishing episode, I'm hopeful to finish it this weekend, it really turned out nice. We are getting a lot of support for the Peanut Butter Cup Episode but I still have some marketing to do yet. That's about it for today!
9/11 Working hard on finishing the Fishing Trip Episode, it is really looking great! I did run into one delay, I can't hear what Skipper Mike is saying when he's talking about all the folks that give him free products so that the kids can fish for free! Looking forward to tomorrow, Billdog, the folks from Traeger and me are going to start planning Road Kill III Battle for Supremacy!
9/9/09 number 9, number 9 number 9, I feel like listening to the Beatles! LOL, Been trying very hard to finish the Fishing episode. I finally got the footage edited to 28.5 minutes, now I have to add the sound effects and Graphics. I also have a new sponsor, Nadared Vodka. You can visit their website at www.nadared.org Now I have a beer sponsor and a vodka sponsor!
8/30 the show went great yesterday I'm thinking of calling it 2 fat bastards get drunk the flame disks worked out great, the grill charms were fun but considering it was 107 it was hot.
still working on the fishing sow, going to take sometime
8/22 still working on the pig episode, I am hopeful to finish it tonight and render it so it'll be ready tomorrow.
8/19 It rendered great. I set it up to run the show through it's final paces tomorrow nite. I have to check all the sounds and graphics and clean it up. Once I'm done that I just have to add the opening sequence for the "intro segment" and then it should be done, I'm thinking Sat/Sun time frame.
set my computer to render the draft of Pork'n out, hoping to finish it all by Friday, Saturday at the latest.
8/18 dang major set back on the Pork'n Out show at Ferrell's computer crashed while it was rendering. So I'll have to render it in the morning.
3rd Tuesday of the month means an HOA Meeting, I'm on the board so I guess I need to read up on what's happened last month LOL.
8/17 Finally finished putting together the 28.5 minutes of video for the Pork'n Out episode we filmed at Ferral's Fireside in El Cajon. Although we grilled a pig, the show was a bear! I ran short of film, the extra footage we shot to fill in the cameraman had the camera setting on manual focus and filmed everything out of focus, sigh. However, I should be finished the entire thing by Friday Night.
Dropped off the menu for next Friday night at the VFW in El Cajon. They offered to put posters up that I'm there helping out, now that's just cool. Now I just have to make a poster LOL
8/16 joined the man's auxiliary at the VFW in El Cajon Today. I will be doing some shows there. It's a great group of people. Also we were sampling the Salmon Jerky donated by House of Jerky since I had a number of comments on twitter about it. I liked it, it was sort of like Tuna Fish in a can by a Jerky LOL, best I can explain it! LOL
8/15 We filmed today at the New Grand in El Cajon. It was a good show but the folks at the Grande really didn't do anything to promote the show and the crowd for the most part wasn't into the show. We did get a cool Co-host, Alexia, who really helped to make this another great Grilldog episode. I'm thinking I'm not going to do another show there. The recipes using Jerky, donated by www.houseofjerky.net were great, everyone agreed that the 9 recipes just increased in goodness and culminated in the potato, leek Jerky Soup at the end.
