In Charleston I advised you.... So you want an adventurous Fun Filled Adrenaline Rushing Vacation!!! Go some place Else!!!!  WELL >>> THIS IS IT (ok, it's one place).

If you want some heart pounding fun.  Bug on up to Big Bear in the summer!  Take the lift (an American Lift, an English Lift is an Elevator) up the mountain with your Mt Bike and with several courses to choose from, take a heart pounding adventure up and down and around the mountain!

Hey, Rock Climbing Fans!!! Don't trust those guide books that say there's only a few climbs in Big Bear.  The folks out there have been busy.  If you have a 4x4 and trust ole Grilldog...YOU NEED A 4x4 to get there, but there are hundreds of climbs of all levels there! Here's a map with the GPS coordinates, Good Luck! One note, 4x4 paths may very depending on the weather.

Big Bear 4x4 Route and Rock Climbing Way Point!
Hey, just take a tent and Camp There!

Of course there is lots of lake fishing and party pubs and cabins at Big Bear too.  There's a little SIAM Thai restaurant on your right, just before town, it's Great!

For a Taste of Mexico, hit the Sonora Cantina on Big Bear Blvd.

A great place to stay at an affordable price is the Snow Bear Lodge at 40504 Big Bear Blvd, visits www.snowbearlodge.com

Hey, always lots of yard sales, but don't buy computer equipment from little old ladies with a nice smile! The equipment won't work LOL...Even a geek can get ripped off boo hoo.

2002 Up Date!

We all know good Grilldogs don't sit still for too long.  In June of 2002 my good buddies Jim and Bill and my bestest buddette Amber trucked on up to Big Bear,  Camping this time!  See, your good ole pal Grilldog joined a singles group in San Diego, Unlimited Adventures Club (tell them Grilldog sent ya) and is planning a BIG - Big Bear Camping, Climbing, Mt Bike Riding, Hiking (and drinking) festival in September! So of course we had to do some recon and we found the perfect place... Hannah Flats Campground, it's close to Fawnskin and has great facilities (no showers).  However, if you want a great group site! Go to Grays. You can call Reserve USA to stake a spot out! From Hannah Flats, the Climbing Pinnacles were only 20 minutes away.  But don't believe the trail books or rangers, they'll have you travel an hour and a half to a "parking lot" (in the woods? come on get a clue folks).  Our trail guides got so lost trying to find the "parking lot" THAT, of Course,.... Good Ole Grilldog had to come to the rescue WOOF WOOF!  Pulling out his trusty GPS device (that our trail guides D&L scoffed at) Grilldog showed how we were a couple miles too north and so we turned around and found the spot.  BUT EVEN though the guide books tell you Grilldog's way is a 4x4 route, it's not as bad as this "preferred" route!  (Hey FOLKS, the local climbing guides want you to hire them, that's why they want you go to THEIR Spot.... Grilldog just wants ya to have fun!) ... and remember GRILLDOG RULES!!!

Looks like with all the Mt Biking and Rock Climbing available in Big Bear, if it's the weekend and Sunny out and you see a black Xterra and a familiar smile, just wave...it could be good ole Grilldog himself!

And that's the Grilldog Report for my several Stays in Big Bear California.  Now it's back to San Diego!
