Actually Home is El Cajon, but you know ole Grilldog
wanders around the place, therefore, reports of Grilldog Sightings range from La
Jolla to San Diego Proper, Scrips Ranch and Alpine.
While home Grilldog made a new Site:Take a look and tell them Grilldog Sent ya!

Always check out www.sandiegosinglesparties.com for up to date info on some great over 30 single parties in San Diego. Usually held in the La Jolla or Kearny Mesa Area! Also, from 4/1 - 10/30 every monday night (Check The Reader for the location) is an Open Softball game for all abilities if your single and over 30 and of Course Pizza And Beer afterwards at Roundtable Pizza (sorry, but Roundtable isn't a favorite of Grilldoggie) But hey, Grilldog loves a group...Ask Ed.
Places in San Diego
Number 1 is Goody's Restaurant & Bar, 1221 Broadway, El Cajon, CA 92019 - They have a tasty and affordable Champagne brunch every Sunday (they've actually stolen me from my number 2 Casa Sanchez) and a delicious Mexican/American Menu. Tried just about everything, and my favorites are their Burgers with Chili, Chicken Nachos or Quesadilla, and the Greek Salad is yummy! Also, they have karaoke every night from Wednesday through Sunday.
Number 2 (used to be 1) is the Casa Sanchez, 1530 Jamacha Rd.,Suite I, El Cajon Ca 92019 619-4444-7713 - for all you can drink Cervezia (Beer) Brunch woo hoo, Mexican, order off the menu, Awesome to start your weekend off right. Everything is made fresh from scratch. Start with marinated carrots and jalapenos and salsa and salsa verde, followed by a plate of fresh peaches, oranges and pineapple. Then you have a variety of menu items from your basic chorizo and heuvos to omellete del mar! (that's sausage and eggs and sea food omelet for you Gringo's!) Plus, Sunday all you can drink Champagne brunch! Woo hoo, Grilldog and his sweetie were there almost every Saturday! So that gets Grilldogs four paws and a tail salute' Especially, when the price for 2 is under 20$ woo hoo wuff wuff!!!
Number 3 in San Diego, was discovered just before I started my journey's into the world again. Todai, a seafood/Japanese restaurant just off of route 8. Ok, so 21 bucks each is a little pricey for an all you can eat buffet, but when there's about 20 kinds of sushi, plus a variety of mussel preparations, oysters, lobsters, Alaskan Crab Legs, Seaweed salad, a Tempura bar, a desert bar a noodle bar, Grilldog couldn't sample enough! Everything was fresh and wonderful! And forget ordering beer, lap up some of their Raspberry ice tea - that in and of itself gets a four paw salute' from ole Grilldog!
Jamacha Junction in El Cajon just past Washington Street on Jamacha road for Prime Rib and late night Libations. Free sandwiches at 11pm and a great spread for happy hour snacking and pool tables! Of course, when ole Grilldog is in town, you may find him relaxing some evenings there with a rum and coke and chatting with the gang. Now if you are a real Grilldog fan! You know Grilldog has a recipe web page with some of his favorite culinary delicacies. If you read the BBQ vs Grilling Story, you'll learn more about Grilldog and Jamacha Junction! Woo hoo...
The Bahia Belle, is a paddlewheel type boat that runs back and forth around Mission Bay it's great! On Friday and Saturday night, for a couple bucks you can relax or get down to live music. But the Drinks are so expensive, think twice about libations!
Forever Fondue in Mission Valley gets Grilldogs hind leg salute. They just opened and sat me and my gal down and within minutes our food was covered with ants. The management refused to replace our half eaten food. They did move us to a new table. Then they kept telling us how horrible it was to have ants in our food and making bad jokes the rest of the night. Well, that was most horrible, imagine, taking a bite of food and finding no less then ten ants swarming around the leaves of lettuce at your face. So Grilldog's recommendation is "don't even drive by!"
PIZZA, Grilldog only has one Pizza Habitat, Route 66 Pizza over near SDSU, Tell Jim the owner that Grilldog sent ya...Great Food Great drinks and Great Prices!
The Brigantine off of Route 8 for Happy Hour, order the Clam Chowder or Fish Taco during Happy Hour, better prices =0)
Lunch in La Jolla found us at the Rock Bottom Brewery, Good Service, but a beer from there at lunch will certainly put you in the mood for a nap. Try their Beer Pretzels yum yum
In Hazard Center is a Ginza Sushi for all you can eat Sushi Champagne Brunch, I'm there! Great Price.
Of course while in Old Town Donna and I stopped in the Rock'n Baja Lobster. A great place at happy hour. However, if it's hot and humid they have no Air Conditioner! Therefore, the carpet has a moldy smell...After a couple Margarita's you don't notice the smell...The Starlings were there in force. I had to shoe a few away as those little birdies saw one too many Alfred Hitchcock movies and was dive bombing my food.
The Alpine Inn in Alpine, just past Viejas Outlet mall and Casino has a most awesome all you can drink Bloody Mary Brunch, Grillldog was there! This gets Grilldog's Highest honors, four Paws and a Tail!
Joe's Crab Shack is too expensive, we were down in Mission Beach to celebrate a Animal's Gal's birthday. We all found the food very expensive and not at all as wonderful as their ad guru tooted. SO a big Hind Leg Salute to Joe's Crab Shack!
Donna and I went to the Animal Shelter on Morana Blvd just off of 5 looking to adopt a baby kitty, but none was there. However, it was a very nice establishment so you know Grilldog supports the human society, please have your baby spaded (fixed) and don't adopt a baby if you can't keep them! woof woof! I'll have to bite you if you don't!
What's a day with out a tour of the city. Starting in Old Town, Grilldog and one of the Pack (DeadMan) wandered through the shops and had a Giant Margarita at noon at the Plaza del Mundo, (then spent two hours wandering around trying to sober up, man that was a great margarita! Then we hopped the Trolley and headed for the Gas Lamp District. What are some of Grilldog's favorites in the GasLamp. Well, Dicks Last Resort, The Field, if your a Tom Cruise fan, check out the Kansas City BBQ, of course Club E on E street and the Seville for wonderful Tapas and Chipino! However, Dan and I sucked some beer down at Rock Bottom Brewery and some Beer Pretzels, more Beer at the Field a great Irish Pub (the Food is Great, try their Corn Beef). Afterwards we took the Trolley down to San Ysidro and walked across the boarder for some cervaza and tequila in old Mexico, Tijuana.
Always check The Reader for coupons.
And that's the Grilldog Report for my Stay in San Diego, CA. Next Stop, Warren Robins, GA...Where? It's outside Macon, GA - Ok about 100 south of Atlanta!
