Map of Grilldog's
TX - Trials...

This is perhaps the only Wichita Falls, TX sight you'll find on the net, definitely the only one about life, living and food. Just a small town about an hours drive from Oklahoma and just a 2 hour drive north of Ft Worth.  Whicita Falls recently hit the map as the famed Dallas Cowboys moved their summer camp here! Mainly because there is little here the guys can do to get in trouble....But I hear they try LOL

Warning...The airport sucks..only puddle jumpers and Death Traps from American and Delta await you

Tip one to Ten do not stay at the Best Western, it sucks!

However, if your out and about on a Fri or Sat night Grahms Station in town offers a variety of venue's and is certainly one place for Hot Single guys and gals to meet.  Second choice, less of a meat market but TRUE Texas Fun is Outskirts located on the outskirts of town (imagine that)  With a Live Band, Great Drink Prices and Friendly people your suuur nuf going to have a great time.  Hey, and say hello to my Best Buddy Julie!

On my departure the American Airlines attendant rushed me into a van we drove 2 hours to Dallas/FtWorth where I spent a miserable night in the airport...Y2K boos for Wichita Airport...and American Airlines for their treatment of me and their other overnight guest you all suck!!!

First Stop Via the internet I hooked up with a couple great people here in Wichita Falls to give ole Grilldog the local taste of the town...  If your looking for home style cooking you can't beat the Pioneer restaurants.  It's a local chain with great food and great prices, no alcohol served.

Second Stop, we tried to go to the Branding Iron for BBQ but they have limited hours and we ended up in the Lonesome Dove...Now I won't call it a local dive, that I would give it too much credit LOL, I don't know if they served food, but I won't eat any.  But the service was great, the beer cold and if you like two step they salt the floor and had a live band and it stomped yeaa haaa... Of course one of the band players was a bit smashed for 5pm on a Sunday afternoon and had trouble staying on the stage, but that just added to the ambiance.

I did eat at some Greek place, I was so impressed I forgot the name, the service was horrible, it took 45 minutes after we ordered to get our food...So I'd just as soon suggest ignore Greek places here.

The town boasts of a great all you can eat Chinese Buffet in Town, so I went. Don't eat Chinese here.  Why would Chinese be in Texas? Think about it...Go to China Town DC to Tony Changs Fish Restaurant or Mongolian BBQ and forget everything else, unless you go to China LOL

The Branding Iron...Forget any and all other restaurants in Wichita Falls...Live here, eat here and be happy.  I had the Hot Links and Brisket and knew what heaven is all about, slop me down and feed me more!  The Brisket was so tender it was falling apart. The Hot links were perfect.  They let you put your own sauce on so you can eat it sloppy, or neat  Forget 5 star hotels, forget two thumbs up, this has Grilldog's four Paws and a tail up Honor of the Best of the Best....

All you can eat Catfish House...They are a dime a dozen here.  The interiors are all a little different but you get a morsel of meat deep fried, some places use pure canola oil. The hushpuppies are good and the service is good but I won't go back.

Saladeli, don't bother, they get the Grilldog Hind Leg salute -- and that's not a complement!

I stopped in an I Hop for  munchies and do you know that they take so much taxes out of the waitresses salary that in a two week period they're pay check is only 1.50, that's one dollar and fifty cents...Grilldog BOO's IHOP...boycott I HOP...But if you eat there and your waitress is good....Tip her very well...

At the Airport in Dallas/FortWorth, they have a Wine Bar that serves only Texan wine...they have Texan Wine???  The stuff was great!  So if your ever in a layover in Dallas/Ft Worth wander over to the American Airlines Terminal A15.  You must stop at the La Bodega Wine Bar... The Wine Bar gets it's own Web Page Per Grilldog..Go THERE!!

Also, I stopped at the Kinko's (I don't promote Kinko's at all) on Houston Street and ate at the BBQ place across from Kinko's ...It was excellent BBQ , and they had a large variety of smoked BBQ Selections (Branding Iron in Wichita Falls is better)

Also, during my stay in Wichita Falls, I wandered up to Oklahoma right outside Ft Sills...There's a kewl Buffalo reserve and a fun Mountain to explore, but best of all MEERS for longhorn burgers...They were good, but they've lost some flair over the years and have gotten smaller, but they are still worth a try if your in the area!  They don't take credit cards, just checks and cash!

And that's the Grilldog Report for my Stay in Wichita Falls, TX.  Next Stop, Corpus Christi, TX...Boy Howdy
