well, hold me down, I don't believe it, Mouri is right! Jeesh, (Grilldog shakes head). That's why she titled the thread Achhar. We all know pickling is a way of preserving something. For us we typically think of cucumbers which have been pickled which is preservation using vinegar. HOWEVER, In India, being the Monkey's that they are, pickling or food preservation is done via Oil and is made pretty much like Pesto. However, it's probally spicier and I think they typically use a lot of sesame, which you could probally do with the basil as well. It would be a different taste but still very good. I believe it is used like a relish or a spread, just like Pesto. So just for the record, Mouri's right, sigh LOL

sorry Mouri, didn't mean to offend you or India, I don't even remember what I meant by that statement. Actually, when I was in undergrad school, I had a double major, psychology and sociology and in soc we had to study a culture outside the US and you'll never guess what I studied, yeppers, it was India! Anyway, sorry if I offend you, I didn't really mean anything about it, sometimes I have a joke in my head and try to write it and I type fast with out thinking and I never proof what I type so I made a boo boo... :-(

yes, in undergraduate school I went for two degrees one in psychology and one in sociology and in sociology I had to choose a specific culture as one to study and India seemed really interesting so that's what I studied.

hey i was just checking on the pesto-pizza part ... and we got a power cut for the 3rd time in a row in the middle of checking the pizza ep ...
see we got heavy rains and thunder and quite a storm here .. and some of the power plants were affected including the ones that supplies ours .. well of course we have the emergency power supply taking over immediately ..... but the few seconds during the switching over is irritating .. anyway .. i love that i m getting the pizza show too .. tell u about it in the video-snippet thread ..
