well, we were planning a big oyster show for october but it has gotten postponed. However, we are planning something different and we are going to be filming at the Hacienda de las Rosas again but probably in November for Veterans Day and it'll be a Holiday Special! cool. But no oysters sigh.
Aw, that's a shame, G'dog! I know you were looking forward to that show! Hopefully it's not indefinitely postponed.
nah, they are working with a real film crew to film oyster production and once they do that they are going to send me the clip to post in my show so I'm pretty sure they are serious.
The only way I have eaten oysters is fried. Can't have raw bc of kidney disease, which I will call KD now. It's easier to type. lol. Wink
The oysters up in washington have some sort of disease so we couldn't eat them raw, however, that's my favorite way of eating them! I try to avoid fried foods because of my HD LOL that's heart disease, it is easier to type that way LOL
Oysters, food of the "gods".....yummy....pardon my slurps. Growing up on the coast as a kid we would have oyster roast in the Fall all the time. The men would build a fire pit and the oysters would be put on a wet burlap bag then covered with another wet (sea water) bag. The oysters would roast and pop open. While that was happening the women would be frying corn bread fritters over an open fire pit. If I close my eyes I can see that as clear as day and smell the sea!!
Mama would even roast them in the oven using a big pan and cover the oysters with a wet heavy towel until they were done. Nothing finer than being in Carolina!!
oh yeah, I'm from the east coast and I miss those seafood roasts. Out here in Souther California they just have bon fires, no food sigh. I was looking forward to an oyster show, real oysters are just too expensive out here.
Yep, it sucks when the food of your childhood cost more than a car! LOL....
OH, you know it, don't know if you've ever been over to Baja but don't order the lobster!!!!

Yeah, I have high cholesterol, so I really should cut back on the fried foods, but I take Lipitor for it, so I guess I figure that it's ok. lol.
