OK, gang what do you think about this. I'm going to plan a Road Kill Show, hopefully to film in December. I've a lot of cool ideas, so let me know you're thoughts. I'm thinking, rattle snake, armadillo, squirrel, possum, maybe allegator, grille them up... Any thoughts, have I completely lost my mind... NO, it's going to be awsatious...
Just tell me, it isn't gonna be stuff you scraped up off the road. As to grilling them up...why not...
no we are not going to be scraping them up off the road, we ARE going to film a few scenes to pretend that we are hitting animals and scooping them up, but we are getting the meat from a butcher shop.
Some how I didn't figure you would....but ya just never know.....Wink Have you cooked any of those meats before? Mama use to soak her squirrel and coon and possum and bear overnight in a bowl of salted water in the fridge....supposely helps with the "gamey" taste....I've only eatten squirrel and dove and deer.....left the rest of the "critters" alone. My daddy and brothers hunted most every weekend when something was in "season" and probably many times that things weren't.
I'm going to see out outragous I can get with the meats, it'll depend on what the butcher shop can get me. I usually soak that stuff, I'd like to get armadillo, got a nice rice recipe. For the armadillo I'd have to soak it in buttermilk for about 24 hours first.
I've eaten grilled deer before...It was like a steak...It was BETTER than a steak!! I loved it!! Make sure you put a disclaimer at the end saying that you didn't actually run those animals down! lol.
yeah, I've got that in the works, it's part of the script, however, I can't say no animals were harmed or we'd be eating veggies and not meat! LOL
Yeah, that's what I was going to say until I thought about it. lol.
I can't even promise they were killed in a humane way, all I'm going to get is get some meat from the butcher and play with it on TV and I may gross a few folks out in the process, but we'll have a hoot anyway... a hoot, can we get an owl? I wonder!
LOL! As long as you say that you didn't personally run down those animals in your truck/car/van, then I think you're safe. lol.
