well, FL is a great state to visit! I'd recommend CA but considering we're waiting for that earthquake to knock us into the ocean, her and i meeting here might just start it!!!
Well, there are lots of beautiful places and Shay needs to get out of Florida once in a while. Whoops, I forgot that she can't get too far away from the transplant center in case they call. So maybe it should be Florida. I was actually thinking Denver.
Denver DENVER! my wife and I got snowed in their on our way back from Paris on our Honeymoon aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh We had to spend the night sleeping on the floor!!!! There wasn't even a BAR!!! The bastards!
I think I'd rather stay in FL anyway, there's NO snow here...and if there is, it doesn't stick. Big Grin
But Denver has mountains (at least nearby) and I can attest that there are some pretty awesome bars and restaurants there (even in the airport). I don't like Florida because I don't do bugs or humidity (sorry Shay). The last time I was in Florida I was in Orlando for a conference and staying at the Marriott near Disney World. The room was something like $250 per night for the "special convention rate" and this was in the early nineties. Anyway, I woke up in the morning to take my shower and go about my business and there was a bug (alive, no less) about the size of my palm in the shower. I called maintenance and told them I didn't like visitors in my shower and they sent a nice young man to remove it. However, the size of that bug made me fearful of Florida.
I saw one about that big only once. However it was in my house on my bedroom door. Freaked me out. I even had nightmares about it! I am terrified of all bugs. William killed it, but I don't see how he did it. That thing was huge. I've lived here for 6 years, and that's the only bug that size that I have ever seen. We are more in the Northern part, so I guess it's not as bad as Orlando.
oh yeah, I use to go to Miami Beach all the time and they had some huge bugs there. They could carry little children away!
Now I did live in Minnesota for a time and the mosquito is the state bird there. The things are huge. They don't have blood banks there as no one has any blood left to give. lol I don't know why they grow so big there -- probably all those lakes (many of which are about the size of a large mudpuddle). They had to do some stretching to come up with 10,000 lakes.
I thought New Jersey's state bird was the Mosquito, ours were huge, you'd mistake them for condors!! It's all the marsh land we have.
In the more woodsy parts of Alabama, there are lots of mosquitoes there too. I had them. I was allergic to them when I was younger, but I always got bit. Luckily I wasn't deathly allergic to them. I would just get these big welts where they bit me the size of a deck of cards. I grew out of it though. I'm not allergic anymore. Big Grin
