We just added a new show for our line up and we are going to be filming on January 1st. This will be the second show of the New Grilldog show (the road kill show being the first). Our good Friend Bar Dog (Chris) former owner of Goodies in El Cajon, now owns Mr. D's a pub in Chula Vista. He's invited us back. Therefore, I'm going to film making some of my favorite sauces for wings and then serve the folks at Mr. D's on January first, starting at 11am. So far we have Adobo from my trip to the islands, a Pomegranate sauce from a trip to Arizona and a Chinese Sweet BBQ sauce I picked up in hawaii... I'm checking out all my recipes for some good ones and of course there's my Chernobyle sauce.
Well, you have to use the original Anchor Bar recipe also. It is really simple. You bake the wings (originally they deep-fried them, but I think that makes them too greasy) until done. In a pot warm up (for each pound of wings) 1/4 lb. melted butter and 2 cups Frank's Red Hot Sauce (the original Anchor Bar sauce). Toss the wings in the sauce and serve with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. That is truly the original recipe for true Buffalo wings except as I noted.
well, what the heck is the recipe for Franks red hot sauce? I know butter is the secret but I haven't put together the original buffalo wingy sauce yet
Frank's Red Hot Sauce is a brand of hot sauce that you can buy. It is the brand of sauce used by the Anchor Bar in their wings. You add butter to it before you toss the wings in it. If you can't find Red Hot Sauce in your area, I'll mail you a bottle. I personally perfer the taste and kick of some other sauces, but if you are going to make authentic Buffalo Wings you have to use the Frank's. It now also comes in several degrees of hotness ranging up to suicidal.
ahh... I met with the Board of Directors of the Grilldog Show and they decided Not to do a genuine Buffalo Wing show but a Wingy show... They have me Winging a pomegranate sauce, a Hawaiian/Chinese sauce, a hot sauce glaze, a really hot sauce glaze, a honey mustard tarragon sauce and an adobo sort of sauce. Those guys drive me crazy! But I'll have to look into that sauce and see if I can find it around here.
All those kinds of wings sound delicious. I will be awaiting your posts.
I'm going to start working on them during the week I'll have to let you know!
Well, I'm just about finished the Grilldog and G G scene. It's really over the top, in many ways. Yes, I'm really getting the word out about the other shows LOL.. but in a tasteful way, maybe. Anyway, it's pretty cute, I decided to have GG magically appear and Disappear like a Genie I was going to go with a french sound in the back ground but I thought that'd be a bit too much. Can't wait to finish this one. BTW I'm still eating wings, not many people showed up and I had 20 lbs of wings and I came home with 10 lbs burp.
I DO NOT want to hear about any digestive difficulties!! 10 lbs. of wings is enough to give a normal person a heart attack.
well, i'm only eating them a pound at a time LOL... I think I'm going to call this episode Of Wind and Wings. My Telescopic mic broke over the holidays and I haven't used the regular one in a long time and it was a windy day. I put my headphones on and thought a tornado was headed my way!
