What can we do while Grilldog is away to help him out? I am being serious here. It is becoming obvious that he needs some help to keep up with the site, his shows, and his regular job. I don't know the current problem (family illness) but we shoud rally around and try to do something to help. If you don't feel comfortable putting your suggestions on the forum, then pm or e-mail me through the messaging system on this site.
I think he has just been so busy filming and editing his shows and now creating all those DVD's for TV stations around the country and world, that maintaining the forum is getting harder and harder. Also it seems most people are mainly watching his vids and not visiting/signing up here.
What are your ideas, Nancy?

Maybe Grilldog should buy a round of drinks for everyone, I know I'd show up more. I just get too busy playing Tomb Raider to get on. Personally, I don't know if we can come up with something (Grilldog is usually the go to dog about this kind of thing) but I'm sure just knowing that you all are trying is cheering him up! I hear he's going through one of the toughest emotional times of his life right now and just knowing that friends are buzzing around gets his tail wagging a bit, as he would say. Why just yesterday, his My Space Buddy Chuck Steak Chuck from Brady TX (who didn't know he was out helping family, sent a txt msg with a picture of what he (Chuck) was grilling.) It cheered Grilldog up and they txted for a long time. (Grilldog called me today, he needed his old sidekick for some support.. Heck as often as a lot of us rely on him, it was the least I could do!
So what can everyone do?
Well, if he would stop trying to be so darned self-sufficient -- "Grill Dog Saves the World" -- there might be something we could do to help. At any rate he is missed and I hope that whatever the problem is, he is doing okay. Can anyone tell us anything more about the nature of the "family illness". Parent? Sibling? I hope not Grillpup? With his history he could have had another heart attack and be calling it a "family illness". I am worried and would truly like to help if I can. He has my e-mail. Tell him that Saffron (my cat) sends purrs and hugs.
I was talking to Grilldog today and he does care about everyone and that if you'd like to email him, he'll let you all know what is going on. He asked me not to post anything about it on the forum for the world to see. But it's not Grillpup, she's doing fine!
I have e-mailed him and he sends love to everyone. We all just need to hope for the best for him and his family. There is really nothing we can do for him except to keep coming and posting here and having fun. I think that is his wish -- that the forums would continue to be fun even if he is not able to be here for a time. How about it folks???
I believe you are right Chefy, I think although Grilldog may be going through a tough time, that he'd still want the world to go on enjoying life and his philosophy of Food, Fun and Friends. I hope he's back soon!!!
I had an e-mail today which said he is leaving to return to San Diego. I don't know if he will be up to doing a lot right away, though.
I'm back in SD I still have a lot to do, so I don't know how often I can get on, I appreciate everyone's support.
You are welcome, and welcome back!!
