tymology: Portuguese, from Tupi tipi<glottalstop>óka
1 : a usually granular preparation of cassava starch used especially in puddings and as a thickening in liquid food; also : a dish (as pudding) containing tapioca
The other day we were watching who's line is it anyway and one of the characters just started saying Tapioca, cracked everyone up (you had to be there) Anyway, it reminded me of the time my Mom made Cheesecake, you know, the real kind that's more cake then pudding/jello mix. It was always my favorite but she mixed tapioca in it, she liked tapioca and cheesecake and thought it'd be great. No one ate it. Even though non of us knew she did it, one bite told us there was something seriously wrong with it...
This Thread is for Tapioca Experiments! Good, Bad, or Indifferent. This one was certainly Hind Leg Salute experiment
Sorry, but just the thought of tapioca makes my lip curl! Never liked it...won't ever like it! LOL

I use to eat it a lot as a kid, my Mother's Mom "Mom Mom" use to make that and rice pudding. It was very sweet. One day I was over to Mom Mom's and she just made a Huge Pot of the stuff and since "Butchie" (that was what she called me) could do anything he wanted at Mom Mom's he was allowed to eat all he wanted... Needless to say I ate so much I was barfing all night and have not eaten it since! I was about 5 years old!
What is tapioca anyway, is that the stuff that looks like little maggots in pudding? There's not enough beer in the world to get me to eat that stuff. I doubt you are going to get many people experimenting with that unless it's to create some sort of toxin!
That's funny! LOL...I can just picture that, too!

I can't remember a time that I liked it. I grew up with my mom telling me stuff like, "you'll like it when you get older." Well, I don't know how much older I'll need to be. Guess when my taste buds die? LMAO!
Yep, Billdog, that's the stuff. I guess the idea that it felt like I had little maggots in my mouth as I ate it was too much for me! It's a texture thing! LOL

ive never tasted it before and from the looks of things i dont think i will, maggots erghhh
it has a sweet but strong taste, I'm sure I've had a bit of it since I was a kid, I think it was on an airplane, you are kind of stuck when you have a 6+hour trip to eat what ever is there or go with out...Thank God I smuggle booze on board LOL
haha u smuggle drink on board ive done that before lol a bottle of jack daniels. i was terrified of flying then lol but anyway i still wont have it with it being like maggots that just nasty
LOL... yeah, I use to have a flask that was plastic that the metal detectors couldn't pick up but I lost it. Now I just get a bunch of those little bottles some vodka and some rum so I can start the 6 hour trip from San Diego to the East coast with bloody mary's and then end up with rum and coke... Then for my next 6-10 hour flight across the pond I'll either continue with the rum and coke or have a stash of something else just for fun. However, it's against the Federal Regulations so you have to be careful not to get caught. At least most international flights serve free alcoholic drinks once in international waters.
OH yeah Grilldog, I remember the last time I had that crap it was on an airplane, I mean what are you going to do, you're on a flight from Heathrow, London to San Francisco... you have to eat something and now you can't even bring your own bottles on board! Damned Terrorists!!!!
