Pasta
Now that I have my new Kitchen aide I've been experimenting. Today I made tomato/basil macaroni I mixed tomato paste and basil in with the pasta dough. The Pasta came out better this time but it kept lumping together, i think I need a big drying table or something.

RE: Pasta
One of the nasty secrets of pasta making is that you have to scrupulously separate each and every noodle during the drying period. This is much easier with ribbon pastas than with tube pastas. Do you have macaroni dies for your machine? I am in awe. Those portable clothes drying racks they sell in the closet department at WslMart (when opened they look like a scissorjack) make great pasta drying racks. Just make sure Grillpup doesn't use it to dry her dainties. Besides being conceptually gross, the clothes will be all covered in flour.

RE: Pasta
I use to have a "real" pasta cutter and a drying rack but I gave it all away to Billdog. They are not really that expensive sort of like a little tree but I think your clothes drying rack sounds like a winer :-) I'll have to keep an eye on Grillpup's Dainty's!!!

RE: Pasta
Those pasta dryers they sell in cooking stores only hold enough pasta for a couple of puny servings. The clothes drying rack holds enough to feed a few friends or one Grilldog.

RE: Pasta
I made jalepeno sun dried tomato bread and it was really good. Some folks didn't try it because it was different. However, those that did were glad they did!

RE: Pasta
Did you just add sundried tomatoes and jalepenos to a regular bread recipe or is it more complicated than that??

RE: Pasta
well, ouch! are you digging for Grilldog secrets LOL... I actually added dijon mustard and a bunch of your basic taco seasonings. When the Bread first came out of the oven the peppers were still a bit crunchy (I like that) but the limped up by the pot luck.. isn't that always the case!

RE: Pasta
That sounds pretty good, except I would have to go really easy on the jalepenos because my body is rejecting spicy foods these days.
